USC lands a commitment from Texas DL Jake Johnson
Prosper (Texas) High 2026 defensive lineman Jake Johnson has committed to USC.
The Lone Star State prospect chose to play for head coach Lincoln Riley and the Trojans over Wisconsin, North Carolina, Kansas State and SMU among others.
Defensive line coach Eric Henderson was the lead recruiter in pursuing the 6-foot-3, 290-pound Johnson. He was at USC this past weekend and returns this weekend.
Johnson gushed about his trip with the Trojans last weekend.
“It was a great weekend at USC! Some of my favorite things were meeting the fantastic coaching staff. Very experienced and intense staff that still keeps things fun. I was able to spend a lot of one on one time with them as well as sit in on team meetings.
“I enjoyed getting to know everyone else involved in the program and seeing how they operate.
“It was my first time on the campus and at the facility. I toured all the facilities and the Coliseum. Everything was very clean and well kept.

“Also watching the players on the first day of padded practice on Saturday, seeing everyone get super physical and hyped up throughout the entire practice. Also Coach Ryan gave an epic talk to close out practice.”
USC is pushing for On3’s No. 1 ranked recruiting class and Johnson was one of their coveted defensive line targets.
“What continues to excite me is my opportunity to play for the Trojans!” Johnson said. “They are investing heavily in the program and are very committed to success. The new football facility is going to be amazing and will be finished by the time I’m in college! The future looks bright at USC!”
