Carmel (Ind.) High 2028 safety Drake Coellner landed his first offer from Vanderbilt on Monday.

Assistant safeties coach Ari Shinaver gave the 6-foot, 195-pound Coellner the good news.

“I’m still shocked,” Coellner said shortly after the conversation.

Coellner looks forward to growing his relationship with Vanderbilt moving forward.

“They are on the upcoming and they just beat South Carolina,” he said. “I already have a good connection with the coaches.”

Besides Vandy, Coellner has received early interest from the likes of Indiana, Louisville and Purdue. He camped at Notre Dame during the summer.

In the first three games of the season Coellner posted 31 tackles, five pass break ups and four stops for loss.
