WATCH: 2024 3-star ATH Dayton Aupui records two pick-sixes in season opener

2024 Oxnard (Calif.) Pacifica three-star athlete Dayton Aupiu got his junior season off to a strong start on Aug. 19. In a 41-21 win over Westlake Village (Calif.), Aupiu returned two interceptions for touchdowns, including one for 102 yards.

On the 102-yard return, Aupiu intercepted the ball in the end zone and took off down the right sideline. To set up his other touchdown, Aupiu read the receiver’s route and picked off the ball near midfield before racing for another score.

So far, Aupiu has received offers from Arizona, Colorado and Washington. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, it is a close race between all three schools for his commitment.

Per the RPM, the Wildcats lead at 38.1%, while the Buffaloes have the next-best odds at 33.3%. Meanwhile, the Huskies have the third-best chance at 28.6%.
