Rare smooth-and-twitchy athlete whose position is the only part of his evaluation that remains unsettled. Richey is one of the more intriguing film evaluations in a long time. Listed at an unverified 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, he has a good build with room to add some mass, though he looks close to filled out at this stage. He could sit comfortably around 195 to 205 pounds while still retaining his movement skills. His personal best of 15.29 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles is a useful marker here, because hurdling rewards exactly the blend he shows on tape: coordination, rhythm, and…

Top Attributes

- Overall athleticism is outstanding, rare combination of smooth movements combined with twitch and explosion. - Tremendous with the ball in his hands, has the ability to make defenders whiff in space or power through them with his strength. - Route running is quite strong. Needs to continue developing his intermediate game, but thrives in vertical and underneath passing game due to his athleticism and ball tracking.

Areas to Develop

- Needs to develop stronger and more consistent hands, especially away from his body and outside of the strike zone. - Want to see that explosive, bouncy movement skills utilized in 50-50 balls and being a more effective weapon at the catch point. - Has to land on a position for the next level, can almost go too many different directions.

Film Review Notes

Able to watch the latest film. Extremely intriguing prospect. Versatile is understating what he is as an athlete. Could genuinely entertain playing three different positions (WR/RB/S). The movement skills grab your attention off the jump. Clearly 6-foot-plus, 180-plus pounds which explosive and dynamic movements. Rare combination of twitchy and smooth athlete. Has the ability to stick his foot in the ground and change direction on a time, but still runs hard and violently in the open field. Very difficult to bring down as a ball carrier. Quality route runner that isn’t a bad ball tracker by any means. Wins at every level of the field. My biggest question with him when we talking wide receiver is his natural ability to catch the football. He has too many moments body catching the football or refusing to extend his hands in order to pluck the ball away from his frame. And he’s so damn good with the ball in his hands, which is when I begin to ponder the RB projection. And with the defensive film, he comes downhill violently, isn’t afraid of contact, and triggers to the ball well while still having good range at safety. Is he a DB? Maybe? One of the more intriguing watches I’ve had in a long time.
