Tamarion Watkins , a 6-foot-4, 200 pound off-ball linebacker/safety from Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, S.C., has emerged as one of Texas A&M’s top remaining targets for the 2026 recruiting cycle.

The 4-star recruit, who recently trimmed his list to Texas A&M, South Carolina, Georgia, and Miami, is announcing his commitment July 14 at Rock Hill. In his junior season, Watkins delivered a huge stat line: 75 tackles, eight tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and three interceptions across 14 games.

With his decision coming in less than two weeks, a commitment from Watkins could help Texas A&M solidify one of the best linebacker hauls in the country and help Texas A&M also push for the number #1 class in the On3 rankings.

Where things stand

Over the past few weeks A&M has skyrocketed in this recruitment, and it could help the Aggies potentially win this one over Georgia and South Carolina. Head coach Mike Elko and defensive coordinator Jay Bateman are taking a personal interest in Watkins’ recruitment, something he’s very aware of.

If I had to pick someone as of today, I would lean A&M, just off their known history with developing linebackers.
