Oregon State Adds RB Tre Garrison To 2026 Class
The Oregon State football team, head coach JaMarcus Shephard, and GM Eron Hodges have added another player to its 2026 recruiting class with the addition of New Orleans (LA) running back Tre Garrison.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder from NOLA is a two-time state champion with Edna Karr HS and was previously a Washington State commit before decomitting in late December. He also had offers from Nicholls State and Alcorn State.
This past season, his senior year, the three-star recruit tallied 1,588 yards on 244 carries (6.5 yards per carry) and tallied 19 touchdowns. He earned first-team all-state and first-team all-district honors in 2025. He checks in per Rivals as the 24th-best player from Louisiana and the 68th RB nationally.
Here’s what Rivals National Recruiting Analyst Sam Spiegelman said about Garrison’s performance in the Louisiana State Championship game as the “bell cow” back for Edna-Karr.
“Washington State RB signee Tre Garrison was the bell-cow for the Edna Karr squad that generated most of its offense running the football. Garrison was a tone-setter — as a downhill bruiser who runs tough between the tackles and proved to be difficult to slow down in the red zone. Garrison piled up 183 yards on 41 carries and a TD, as the Cougars repeated as Division I select state champions.”
Garrison’s pledge further showcases the Beavers extending their recruiting footprint, as the Big Easy hasn’t typically been an area Oregon State recruits hard, but Shephard is quickly growing the Beavers’ national reach.
Garrison joins WR Jayden Padgett, EDGE Caleb Metzner, TE Landon Cook, DB RJ Whitten, ATH Jesse Legree, EDGE Adel Dorr, DB Kai Wheaton, LB Jeremiah Brown, LB Lance McGee, WR Jameson Powell, and WR Cynai Thomas.
