This time around, the odds are significantly steeper. Tech enters Saturday’s matchup as a 37.5-point underdog—their largest spread since opening the 2014 season at No. 4 Oklahoma under the same odds.

What kind of impact can Tech’s skill position players have in Baton Rouge?
Clay Thevenin emerged as Louisiana Tech’s top playmaker in Week One, racking up 61 yards on just six touches—averaging over 10 yards per touch.
Outside of Thevenin, however, the Bulldogs’ wide receivers and running backs combined for just 98 yards on 20 touches. Chalk it up to Week One jitters, or perhaps Tony Franklin still getting a feel for his personnel. Either way, it’s in the rearview now.
With a major step up in competition this week on the road at LSU, Tech’s skill players will need to rise to the occasion and showcase the talent this group has.
