Monday Morning Hype: Louisiana Tech vs Liberty

Louisiana Tech (5–5, 3–3) returns to Conference USA action this Saturday, hosting Liberty (4–6, 3–3) on Senior Day.
Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. on ESPN+, with radio coverage available on KXKZ 107.5 FM.
Matchup at a Glance
Louisiana Tech fell 28–3 at Washington State on Saturday night, marking its fourth loss in the last five games.
It was a challenging night for the Bulldog offense, which managed just 167 total yards and a single field goal. Andrew Burnette and Trey Kukuk led the ground attack with 39 rushing yards apiece.
Defensively, Tech held the Cougars to 303 total yards, but struggled to get off the field, allowing Washington State to convert 8 of 15 attempts on third and fourth down.
Liberty fell to 4–6 overall after a 34–27 overtime loss at FIU on Saturday afternoon.
Evan Dickens paced the Flames’ offense with 106 rushing yards and a touchdown. The Roswell, Ga., native has been on a tear, averaging 150 yards per game with six touchdowns over his last three outings.
Like the Bulldogs, Liberty features a strong defensive unit, allowing just 23.6 points per game this season.
Week Eleven X-Factors: Two Questions that Matter
Can Louisiana Tech’s offense find its spark?
It’s a fair question. Louisiana Tech has been held to seven points or fewer three times already in 2025—the first season that’s happened since 1994.
With quarterbacks Evan Bullock and Trey Kukuk both dealing with injuries, Tony Franklin faces the dual challenge of protecting his signal-callers if they’re able to play while also crafting a game plan capable of jump-starting the offense.
Tech’s defense has been steady for much of the year, but it continues to operate with an extremely thin margin for error. If the Bulldogs hope to turn things around, they’ll need more support from the offensive side of the ball.
Can the Bulldogs create their own energy?
Louisiana Tech has dropped four of its last five games, and the timing isn’t ideal. With quarter break underway, only a small portion of the student body is in town. Thanksgiving break begins Friday for local schools, meaning many families will also be traveling.
All signs point to a lighter crowd at Joe Aillet Stadium on Saturday.
With a bowl berth still within reach, the question becomes whether Sonny Cumbie can rally his injury-plagued team and generate enough energy from within to deliver a much-needed win on Saturday afternoon.
