Garrett Nussmeier will make his 16th career start at quarterback for LSU on Saturday night at Tiger Stadium.

Nussmeier’s 2024 Campaign

Nussmeier, a redshirt senior from Lake Charles, Louisiana, waited his turn behind former Heisman winner Jayden Daniels before finally getting his opportunity in the spotlight. LSU’s Big Win and Nussmeier’s Top Targets

Nussmeier decided to return for his redshirt senior season, and LSU spent well in the transfer portal to ensure that the Tigers built a playoff-caliber roster around him. The Tigers are ranked #3 nationally after defeating Clemson on the road in Week One.

The Tigers’ number one target through the air last season and through one game this season is 5’8 slot WR Aaron Anderson, who led the team with 61 receptions for 884 yards and 5 touchdowns in 2024. Additional offensive weapons include Kentucky transfer Barion Brown, former high school quarterback Ju’Juan Johnson, and 6’7 TE Trey’Dez Green.

In their only game versus a G6 opponent in 2024, Nussmeier threw for 409 yards with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions against South Alabama in a 42-10 victory.
