Sonny Cumbie speaks at Conference USA Media Day
Louisiana Tech head coach Sonny Cumbie took the podium Tuesday at Conference USA Media Day, held in Frisco, Texas at the PGA of America.
Entering his fourth season with the Bulldogs, Cumbie carries an 11-26 overall record. However, expectations are on the rise — league media gave Louisiana Tech a 75% chance to reach a bowl game in the CUSA Bowl Confidence Index released earlier this week.
Cumbie expressed confidence in the program’s direction, highlighting several key factors fueling his optimism: the return of 60% of the roster, the offensive influence of Tony Franklin, the continuity brought by defensive coordinator Luke Olson’s similar scheme, and who might emerge along a defensive line with so many new faces.
