WATCH: DeShaun Foster expresses frustration after UCLA's loss to UNLV

DeShaun Foster‘s team is now sitting at 0-2 after coming up short once again Saturday. The Bruins hit the road and visited UNLV. Foster’s group ran into many of the same problems it had last week against Utah. The end result was a 30-23 loss at Allegiant Stadium.
Another slow start doomed the Bruins as they went down 23-0 in the first half. UCLA climbed back and was within one score in the fourth quarter. However, too many miscues proved costly.
It was another challenging night for Foster as he looks to get his team on the right track early in his second season. The Bruins were penalized 14 times in Saturday’s game.
“I’m just frustrated because when you know that you can execute better than we were and put together two halves like I wish we would have done and this outcome would have been different,” he said. “But the situation that we were in in the first half, we didn’t really help ourselves out. And we came in the second half and finally we were able to execute, but it still wasn’t enough and just didn’t make enough plays. They played a good game.”
Nico Iamaleava‘s performance in the second half was a bright spot for the Bruins. Foster was happy with what he saw in that time from his starting quarterback.
“He’s a gamer,” he said. “He’s somebody that he wants to make big plays, he’s asking for the ball and asking to be put in certain situations. So, I love when you have a quarterback that wants to put it on his shoulders and carry the team to victory. We’re just coming up short.”
