The incoming UCLA staff continued to add to the 2026 recruiting class, convincing James Madison pledge Michael Price to flip his commitment Friday and sign with the Bruins.

The Huntsville (Ala.) three-star interior offensive lineman committed to the Dukes in June. However, Price was one of seven James Madison commits to not sign when the early period opened Wednesday.

BruinBlitz learned Wednesday evening that Price was already mulling things over and planning on announcing a decision about his future. Once it was announced, he told BruinBlitz that he will enroll early and arrive in January.

The signing gives UCLA its second offensive lineman in the class. San Juan Capistrano (Calif.) San Juan Hills three-star interior offensive lineman Cooper Javorsky was among the 12 players who signed Wednesday.

Price is ranked 160th nationally among all 2026 interior offensive linemen in the Rivals Industry player rankings.

The Bruins are up to 14 signings overall. Parker (Colo.) Legend three-star quarterback DJ Bordeaux signed with the class Thursday.

Price will now follow yet-to-be announced head coach Bob Chesney to Westwood. The decision also turns the attention to the future of Chris Smith, the James Madison offensive line coach for the past two seasons and an assistant at Holy Cross throughout Chesney’s tenure from 2018 to 2023.
