UCLA ‘in mix’ for Nevada transfer WR Cortez Braham Jr.

Two days away from the start of fall football camp, UCLA is still looking to add to its roster.
The Bruins and one other unnamed ACC program are in the running for Nevada transfer wide receiver Cortez Braham Jr., according to On3 transfer portal reporter Pete Nakos.
“He’s closing in on a decision,” Nakos was told by Braham’s representatives.
Braham told Bruin Blitz on Monday that he’s been in contact with UCLA receivers coach Burl Toler III and “a couple other people on staff,” but his agent has otherwise handled discussions with the program.
“I have a call with them tonight,” Braham added.
Last week, Braham was granted a preliminary injunction against the NCAA.
The 6-foot-2, 201-pound target completed his sixth year of college football last season. He collected 56 catches for 724 yards and four touchdowns, ranking second on the Wolfpack in all categories in his lone year with the program.
Braham, who also spent two years at West Virginia, started his collegiate career at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas. Like others, the Baltimore native filed a lawsuit against the NCAA for an additional year of eligibility because his JUCO career counted against his eligibility clock.
Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia kickstarted the pathway in December for JUCO products to be granted an additional year of eligibility.
The Bruins, who have a solid group of options currently at the position, are also waiting on a similar court ruling for Appalachian State transfer receiver Kaedin Robinson.
Robinson transferred to Westwood in the winter but had his transfer waiver denied in March prior to the start of spring camp.
At last week’s Big Ten Media Days in Las Vegas, UCLA head coach DeShaun Foster said Robinson would “most definitely” be a welcomed addition if granted his own injunction.
“There’s not much I can say. We’re just waiting on the hearing, I guess,” Foster said.
The Bruins will open fall camp Wednesday in Costa Mesa.
