WATCH: New UCLA head coach Bob Chesney’s press conference
UCLA unveiled Bob Chesney as the football program’s 20th head football coach in an introductory press conference Tuesday morning.
Chesney, 48, arrived in Los Angeles with his family Monday. The school formally announced the hire Saturday.
Part of the hour-long program was a 28-minute question-and-answer session with the media.
Chesney was scheduled to fly back immediately after the press conference as he prepares 12th-seeded James Madison for its first-ever College Football Playoff appearance against No. 5 Oregon on Dec. 20. He will coach the Dukes throughout the CFP before settling into Westwood for his new job.
Before heading back, Chesney got a taste of his new surroundings including his office at the Wasserman Football Center.
While Chesney did not take additional questions after the press conference, among those who did address the media afterward were search committee member and alum Bob Myers as well as freshman linebacker Scott Taylor.
