Louisville football is headed on the road to Dallas, and the ACC released its first pregame player availability ahead of the matchup between the Cardinals and SMU.

In a surprise, starting quarterback Miller Moss has been listed as “questionable” for this Saturday’s contest.

You can find the rest of the availability report here.

The 6-foot-2 senior has led Louisville to a 7-3 record, and on the season, has totaled 2,344 yards, 11 passing touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He has also run in a team-high eight touchdowns and completed 64.3 percent of his passes. However, after a promising start to the season and now back-to-back home losses to California and Clemson, Moss has struggled. He hasn’t thrown for over 250 yards since Oct. 4 and has just two passing touchdowns over the last five games, while throwing three picks.

Not only is the status of Moss unknown, but it looks like the Cards will also be without running backs Isaac and Keyjuan Brown, as well as linebacker Antonio Watts.

Moss transferred from USC last offseason and was in line to replace Louisville’s Tyler Shough, who is now the starting quarterback for the New Orleans Saints. With the Trojans, the Los Angeles, California, native threw for 27 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in his four-year career. He was benched after a three-interception performance at Washington last fall.

The quarterback’s lack of availability also comes just a week after his postgame comments and criticisms sparked buzz.

“I don’t think something like that gets fixed week to week,” Moss said of Louisville’s unsportsmanlike conduct penalties against Clemson. “That’s a cultural thing and an offseason thing that’s going to need to be addressed. It didn’t come down to any one thing or any one penalty. We own this as a team, and we all have each other’s backs in doing that.”

Moss completed 19 of 27 passes for 212 yards and ran in a touchdown in the 20-19 loss to the Tigers.

The nature of his injury is unknown.

Louisville and SMU kick off at 12 PM EST on ESPN2. It’s the fourth-ever meeting between the two schools and the second time they’ve faced since the Mustangs joined the ACC in 2024.
