In our regular pregame feature, Cats Illustrated examines some of the intriguing numbers behind Saturday’s SEC clash between Kentucky and Georgia in Athens…

1st – Kentucky player (Seth McCowan) to score a rushing touchdown in the first four games of the season since George Adams in 1984.

2nd – Kentucky linebacker Alex Afari‘s rank among SEC defenders in tackles per game (7.8).

5 – Sacks by the Georgia defense through the first four games of the season. That ranks 121st nationally out of 136 FBS teams.

8/8, 12/12 – Field goals and extra points for UK kicker Jacob Kauwe this season. He is one of only five kickers nationally to have at least eight made field goals without a miss, including a long kick of 51 yards.

10.4 – The Cats’ scoring average in 10 meetings with the Kirby Smart-coached Bulldogs. Only twice has UK topped 16 points.

13 – Points UK allowed last season against No. 1 Georgia was the lowest surrendered by the Wildcats to a top-ranked team since 1959.

15 – Straight wins by Georgia in the series against Kentucky, which currently stands at 64-12-2 in the Bulldogs’ favor. The last win for the Cats was in 2010. It marks the second-longest streak in UGA history against one opponent, trailing 22 agianst Mercer from 1892-1941.

16-3 – Georgia’s record under Kirby Smart coming off a loss. The Bulldogs have not lost consecutive regular-season games since 2016, when it happened twice.

46.1 – Punting average for UK’s Aidan Laros, which ranks 14th nationally.

69.8 – Completion percentage for Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton.

96.8 – Kentucky running back Seth McGowan ranks second in the SEC and 19th nationally in rushing yards per game.

99th – SEC game for UK head coach Mark Stoops. He has an on-field record of 34-64 in those games.

108-20 – Kirby Smart’s record in his 10th season as head coach at UGA.

122nd – Kentucky’s national rank in passing offense at 159 yards per game. That is 209.5 yards behind national leader Texas Tech. Only two P4 teams (Iowa and North Carolina) are worse.

188 – Rushing yards per game by the UK offense. The Georgia defense is allowing less than half of that this season, 91.3 yards per game, and just 2.5 yards per carry.

1955 – The Cats and Dawgs are not scheduled to play during the 2026 regular season for the first time in 71 years. The series will resume in 2027 at Kroger Field in Lexington under the new SEC scheduling format.
