Q&A with Mullen running back Dante Dupuch
What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“I’ve been working on my speed with my sports performance trainer and focusing on nutrition and recovery.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I think what I’ve improved most on is my speed and my agility, as well as my strength.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I think we’ve dealt with plenty of injuries these last three years and now that we’re fully healthy I think we’ll surprise a lot of people.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Every team we play is going to be an equally difficult battle and we focus on going 1-0 each week and worrying about each team the week we play them.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“There’s so much talent in this league that it’d be hard to name one player so there’s not any individual player I believe we should be focused on, instead we need to focus on each team as a whole no matter the team.”

Q&A with Regis kicker/catcher Jack Manthey
What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“I lift 5-6 days per week with my teammates at school and also at home, including some kicker-specific drills. I’m a member of the Kohl’s Kicking Colorado training division, and we kick with Coach Scott Groner at Colorado School of Mines every 2-3 weeks.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“Just staying consistent with my strength training. Those early morning lifts can be tough when I’m tired, but I can tell this spring that the ball is jumping off my foot even better than last fall.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“We lost some good players who graduated or left Regis Jesuit for personal reasons, so our team is looking pretty young and inexperienced at the varsity level. And our schedule is always the toughest in the state. But I always try to stay optimistic and know if we stay focused and work together as a team, we can overcome those challenges and have a successful season.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Our first three games are against Cherry Creek, Valor Christian, and Brophy Prep (AZ). All three of those teams are going to be incredibly tough, especially right out of the gate. We also have a difficult conference schedule that includes Legend and Pine Creek.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Probably DJ Bordeaux, Legend’s new QB who is committed to Boston College and just transferred in from Georgia. Also Kannon Smith from Valor, who is an amazing OL/DL and committed to USC. We played Valor twice last year and he creates lots of problems on both sides of the ball.”

Q&A with Mead running back Noah Chapala
What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“My hands have improved greatly.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“We are going to have a great season! All the work that our team has been putting in during the off-season is really going to show on the field.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Every team on our schedule is going to bring their best against us, but we hold ourselves to a high standard and aim to be the best. So there isn’t one specific team I’m focused on—we treat every opponent seriously.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“See above.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?

Q&A with Conifer wide receiver Solomon Washer
What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“We just [started] fully padded practices and I have been putting in work in the weight room this offseason. Coach is getting us in shape right now for the 7’s our team is doing this summer and some team camps. We made the playoffs last year and lost a ton of seniors, so our coach is really trying to push us to be better than last year. Working out for college coaches all over the country is going to take up most of my summer.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I have improved on becoming a better route runner and understanding the influence routes have on defenses and how to open. Last year I ran my routes a lot more robotic, and it was easier for the defense to understand where I was going and wanted to go. My coach played Wide Receiver in Europe and greatly helped me improve my route running. He also taught me how to get off press coverage easier and how being more patient can get you more open then running a robotic route as fast as you can.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I believe if we keep working and building a strong culture within our team, we will make the playoffs and do better than we did last year. We lost a lot of seniors like I said but we have a lot of playmakers on our team who played some last year and are committed to putting in the work.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“The toughest competition on our schedule is Green Mountain. We did not play the best against them last season and lost. They also graduated a lot of seniors, and I feel like we have a good chance of beating them this year, but we are going to have to play very well.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“I think the toughest player we will face next year is Corbin Wade on Green Mountain. He is a big kid and is bigger than most of our linemen and he had a long pass on us last year so I would say he will be the best player we play against.”
