Maliq Brown and Caleb Foster will represent Duke at next week’s ACC Basketball Tipoff.

Duke will bring the senior forward and junior guard to the Hilton Charlotte Uptown on Wednesday morning, Oct. 8. They’ll accompany Jon Scheyer, entering his fourth season as the Blue Devils’ coach.

Duke is scheduled to have its press conference at 10:30 a.m.

The Brown-Foster duo is part of a five-man returning group for the Blue Devils. They’re the ones who aren’t sophomores, as the other returning players who figure to either start or play significant minutes are Isaiah Evans, Darren Harris and Patrick Ngongba II.

This will be Foster’s second straight season as a media day attendee. He had an up-and-down sophomore season, ending with key minutes in Duke’s Final Four run. The 6-5, 205-pounder is likely to begin this season as a starter.

Brown transferred in from Syracuse before last season. He’s a defensive asset who Duke probably needs to be more of an offensive threat this season. Brown is currently recovering from a minor procedure on his left knee.

Brown is one of seven players who will be at ACC Tipoff who transferred within the ACC. The others are Dai Dai Ames (now at California, formerly Virginia), Chauncey Wiggins (FSU/Clemson), Ven-Allen Lubin (N.C. State/UNC and Notre Dame), Cameron Corhen (Pittsburgh/FSU), Boopie Miller (SMU/Wake Forest) and J.J. Starling (Syracuse/Notre Dame).

The ACC’s preseason basketball media event starts on Monday with two-thirds of the league’s women’s basketball teams. Tuesday is a hybrid day — women’s teams in the morning, men’s teams in the afternoon — and Wednesday is the final day, with the remaining two-thirds of men’s teams taking part.
