The Arkansas Razorbacks (2-2, 0-1 SEC) collapsed in the second half and lost to the Memphis Tigers (4-0, 0-0 AAC) 32-31 at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis, Tenn., on Saturday.

Arkansas’ offense collapsed in the second half and after scoring 28 points in the first, managed just three in the second. The Hogs led 28-10 in the first half and the Tigers outscored them 22-3 after that.

Even heading into the fourth quarter, Arkansas held a 31-26 lead over Memphis. Tigers running back Sutton Smith broke off a 64-yard touchdown run to give Memphis the lead.

Arkansas had a chance to take the lead late in the game, and had the ball in the red zone with 1:18 left in the game. Mike Washington Jr. fumbled around the 10-yard line and Memphis recovered, and Arkansas started to burn its timeouts.

It is the second straight week Arkansas gave up a fumble while driving to take the lead late.

The Hogs held the Tigers for the first two plays, but on 3rd-and-8, with its redshirt freshman backup quarterback in, Memphis converted to seal the win.
