There is not a whole lot to be said about the future Golden Knight that has not been already, but Archer continues to put on ‘wow’ performances. He did so again in Greenwood’s 61-14 triumph over Fort Smith Northside.

He compiled over 300 yards of total offense (285 passing, 68 rushing) with 7 combined touchdowns as the Bulldogs won their 28th-straight game dating back to the beginning of 2023.

QB – Gage Hood – Glen Rose

Class: 2027

Height, Weight: 6-2, 160

As a green sophomore himself last season, Hood led a very young Glen Rose squad that started 0-3 to an undefeated conference championship and a second round berth in the always loaded Class 3A playoffs.

Now a veteran with a full season under his belt, Hood has the Beavers off to a 2-0 start. They secured a massive 35-21 win on Friday night over rival Malvern in the Brick Bowl – the Beavers’ first triumph over the Leopards since 2016. Hood had a breakout performance, completing 17 of 27 passes for 270 yards and two touchdowns, and also added 204 yards and three scores on the ground.

QB – Mitchell Polk – Smackover

Class: 2026

Height, Weight: 6-2, 194

Offers: Arkansas – Monticello, Arkansas Tech, Lyon College

Smackover hung 63 points on Fountain Lake Friday to start 2-0 for the second straight season and Polk had a hand – or foot – in all nine touchdowns scored.

The senior dual-threat completed 15 of 24 passes for 304 yards with six touchdowns and also rushed nine times for 136 yards and three scores.

QB – Tre Thompson – Bentonville West

Class: 2026

Height, Weight: 6-1, 180

Offers: Bethel (Kan.) College, Evangel (Mo.) University, Hendrix College, McPherson (Kan.) College, Northeastern (Okla.) State

Thompson nearly led West to an upset victory over two-time defending Class 6A state champion Greenwood in Week 0, but he and the Wolverines left no doubt on the road against Cabot last week.

In just the first half of the dominant 52-14 win over the Panthers, Thompson completed 21 of 24 passes for 356 yards and six touchdowns.

ATH – Kevin “Deuce” Williams – Joe T. Robinson

Class: 2026

Height, Weight: 5-11, 188

Offers: Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, FIU, North Alabama, Northwestern State, Ouachita Baptist, Sacramento State, Tennessee – Martin

Williams essentially beat Pulaski Academy by himself in Robinson’s Week 0 convincing 53-14 win, scoring 18 total points via one touchdown each on offense, defense and special teams.

The Senators had to sweat Friday’s 34-33 win over Jonesboro out, but they prevailed with Williams once again making a crucial impact in multiple areas and earned himself as a top performer for the second straight week. He rushed for 185 yards on 17 carries (10.8 YPC) and a touchdown, returned a kickoff 74 yards for a score, plus collected seven tackles and nabbed an interception.

Honorable Mention: QB Cole Creighton (Shiloh Christian), LB Will Gaines (Searcy), RB Trevion Greer (Newport), WR Blair Irvin III (Bentonville), WR Josiah Steen (Warren)
