Karter Knox out for season opener against Southern

Arkansas sophomore wing Karter Knox will not play in the Razorbacks’ season opener against the Southern Jaguars on Monday due to a toe sprain and is listed as day-to-day, a UA spokesperson confirmed.
Razorback Sports Network color commentator Matt Zimmerman said he expects Knox to be back “soon” on the pregame radio show. Fellow sophomore Billy Richmond III will start in his place.
Knox was selected preseason All-SEC Third Team by both the media and coaches, along with being named one of 20 small forwards on the Julius Erving Award watch list.
Last season, Knox appeared in all 36 games at Arkansas and started 24 of those games. He averaged 8.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per game, but turned it up a notch in the NCAA Tournament, when he scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds against St. John’s and then dropped 20 points with four threes against Texas Tech in the Sweet 16.
