Karter Knox is part of a basketball family. His older brother, Kevin Knox, has played in the NBA for the Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks, Portland Trail Blazers and New York Knicks. Kevin Knox was also a first-round pick coming out of Kentucky in 2018. Karter Knox has developed into one of the top recruits in the Class of 2024, largely because of his ability to do a little bit of everything. “I’ve been working a lot on my playmaking skills,” Knox told On3’s Jamie Shaw. “I’m working on being a three-level scorer and my finishing at the rim. I’m watching a lot of Paul George, a guy who has good size and plays defense and is a three-level scorer.” Knox had a successful 2022-2023 basketball season. He combined to average 20.7 points and 7.5 rebounds through the prestigious City of Palms and Beach Ball Classic in December 2022. Knox was also a member of the 2022 USA Basketball U17 National Team. He averaged 20.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.6 steals in the 2021-2022 season for Tampa (Florida) Catholic. He also led Catholic in scoring as a freshman with 17.5 points and 5.7 rebounds.
