The Arkansas Razorbacks baseball team will finish up fall ball on Saturday with a Fall Series exhibition matchup against the Dallas Baptist Patriots at Baum-Walker Stadium in Fayetteville with first pitch set for 1 p.m. CT.

Arkansas defeated the Little Rock Trojans 8-1 on Friday, powered by a fourth inning grand slam by transfer outfielder Maika Niu.

Junior southpaw Colin Fisher got the start for the Hogs and twirled three innings of two-hit ball with one walk and struck out three batters.

Something of note from Friday, Hogs star catcher Ryder Helfrick was struck by a foul ball in a “tough spot” per head coach Dave Van Horn in the top of the first inning, but he remained in the game before Brendan Kleiman replaced him in the lineup in the fourth.

Van Horn said postgame that he unsure of Helfrick’s status, but he went to get checked out.

“We don’t know yet, sent him to the ER,” Van Horn said. “It was pretty bad.”

Stay tuned to HawgBeat for live updates throughout Saturday’s matchup between the Hogs and Patriots.

Bottom 6 – Arkansas 0, DBU 3

Substitutions: DBU- JT Long on to pitch

Brenton Clark works a walk. Maika Niu strikes out swinging. Cam Kozeal then bounces a ball to second that is easily turned for a double play. Plenty of energy coming from the DBU dugout in this one.

Top 7 – Arkansas 0, DBU 3

Substitutions: AR- Steele Eaves on to pitch.

Mac Rose hits it hard to Carson Brumbaugh at short, but the out is recorded with ease. Eaves strikes out former Mississippi State Bulldog Dylan Cupp, swinging, before sitting Cooper Neville down in the same fashion.

TJ Pompey gets grazed in the helmet, and with that, DBU pulls Avery Duncan out of the game after just eight pitches in favor of Max Luzzaraga. Damian Ruiz slices a ball into the right-center gap, Pompey moves to third. One pitch later, Carson Brumbaugh ropes one down the left field line, scoring both runners with a double. Still no outs for DBU as Arkansas takes the lead. Luzzaraga strikes out Zack Stewart for out number one. Brendan Kleiman works the count full but strikes out. Brenton Clark walks. After a mound visit, Maika Niu hits one 107 MPH throigh the left side, scoring Brumbaugh. DBU brings on Liam Watt to replace Luzzaraga. Cam Kozeal flies out to right to finally end the seventh.

Top 8 – Arkansas 5, DBU 3

Maika Niu makes a great leaping grab at the wall on a deep fly ball, followed by another great defensive play by Steele Eaves on the next pitch as he jumped to get a ball that looked like it would bounce over his head. Top 9 – Arkansas 5, DBU 3

Substitutions: AR- Tate McGuire on to pitch, followed by Peyton Lee

Ryan Martin flies out to left-center. McGuire runs the count full on Underhill, who walks. Maika Niu continues to shine in center field, making a beautiful sliding catch to retire Berghult. Briscoe grounds into a fielder’s choice, moving two runners into scoring position. Alexander Peck shoots a rocket back at Hayden Willey, but Willey knocks it down and throws the runner out at home. Landon Schaefer walks to load the bases for Luke Cornelison. Cornelison strikes out swinging to end the game.
