Arkansas senior quarterback Taylen Green was selected to the preseason Davey O’Brien Award watch list that was announced on Thursday by the Davey O’Brien Foundation. Green was also named to the Maxwell Award watch list last month.

Named after the Hall of Fame gunslinger who starred at TCU in the 1930s, the Davey O’Brien Award is given annually to college football’s best quarterback and is the oldest college quarterback award presented to college QBs.

In his first season with the Hogs last fall after transferring from Boise State, Green started all 13 games, completing 230 of his 381 passes (60.4%) for 3,154 yards and 15 touchdowns to nine interceptions. He also added 602 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground on 156 carries.

Additionally, Green was named the Most Valuable Player of Arkansas’ 39-26 Liberty Bowl victory over Texas Texas after finishing with an Arkansas bowl record 341 yards and two touchdowns through the air, while also rushing for 81 yards and a score.

The 35-player Davey O’Brien QB Class of 2025 will be announced on Tuesday, Oct. 28. For the fifth straight year, fan voting on social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) will earn players bonus selection committee votes during the semifinalist, finalist and winner voting rounds. First-round fan voting will begin Oct. 28 following the QB Class announcement.

The list of semifinalists selected from the QB Class will be named on Wednesday, Nov. 12. The Foundation will announce the three finalists two weeks later (Tuesday, Nov. 25). The 2025 Davey O’Brien Award winner will be unveiled live on ESPN on Thursday, Dec. 11, during The Home Depot College Football Awards.

Green and the Razorbacks returned to fall camp practice on Thursday after getting Wednesday off.
