Three Hogs land on Preseason All-SEC Team, Arkansas picked near bottom in league

The preseason Media Days All-SEC Teams, as well as SEC Champion predictions and projected order of finish in the Southeastern Conference were released on Friday at the conclusion of SEC Media Days in Atlanta, Georgia.
The preseason projections were voted on by media at SEC Media Days at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta. The Razorbacks were picked to finish 14th in the SEC, ahead of just Kentucky and Mississippi State. Texas was predicted to win the SEC, Georgia came in second and Alabama came in third.
Along with the predicted order of finish, three Razorbacks were named to the Preseason All-SEC Team, voted on by the league’s media. Redshirt senior defensive tackle Cam Ball and punter Devin Bale were named to the Third Team while offensive lineman Fernando Carmona Jr. was named to the Second Team.
Ball has played in 39 games and started 20 in his Razorback career, which started in 2021. He started all 13 games as a redshirt junior in 2024 and amassed a career-high 47 tackles, including four for loss and 1.5 sacks.
Bale is headed into his second season with the Razorbacks, and made his name known almost immediately as a redshirt freshman. The Northern Colorado transfer punted 41 times for 1,855 yards for an average of 45.2 yards per punt. 11 of those punts were downed inside the opponent’s 20-yard line and 11 punts traveled 50+ yards.
Carmona is also headed into his second year with the program after he transferred in from San Jose State ahead of the 2024 season. He played exclusively at left tackle last season, but shifted inside during spring practices this past March after the Hogs grabbed Corey Robinson II out of the transfer portal to man the left tackle spot.
Arkansas kicks off the 2025 season on Saturday, Aug. 30, when it welcomes Alabama A&M to Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium for a 3:15 p.m. matchup on SEC Network.
