Wehiwa Aloy honored during Arkansas vs. Notre Dame game

Former Arkansas shortstop Wehiwa Aloy returned the Fayetteville on Saturday to be recognized for his fantastic 2025 season that resulted in winning a Golden Spikes Award, presented annually to college baseball’s best player.
The Hawaii native was honored on the field at Reynolds Razorback Stadium between the first and second quarters of Arkansas’ football game against Notre Dame.
Along with becoming the third Razorback to win the Golden Spikes Award, joining Andrew Benintendi (2015) and Kevin Kopps (2021), Aloy was a consensus All-American, SEC Player of the Year, NCBWA District 7 Player of the Year and earned the Bobby Bragan National Collegiate Slugger Award.
“The Prized One” was selected 31st overall by the Baltimore Orioles in July’s MLB Draft and slashed .288/.356/.500 with 23 hits, nine doubles, a triple, two home runs and 14 runs batted in across 20 games for the O’s Single-A affiliate Delmarva Shorebirds.

His .673 slugging percentage led the team, as did his 81 runs, 19 doubles and 21 home runs. Aloy also had two triples and 68 RBI, which was second behind brother Kuhio Aloy’s 70.
During his three-year collegiate career, that included one season at Sacramento State in 2022, Aloy had a slash line of .332/.406/.609 with 245 hits, 43 doubles, seven triples, 49 home runs and 170 RBI.
