While the American Conference did not publish an official preseason media poll this year, our friends at TigerSportsReport contacted us and other media members across the country who cover the conference to participate in an unofficial poll by the American Conference media members.

A total of 13 media members participated in this year’s poll.

The Tulane Green Wave, who were the conference runner-ups last season, were picked as the favorites to win the conference in 2025. They received 7 of a possible 13 first-place votes to finish with 177 points in the poll.

Tulsa was picked to finish 13th with 35 points. The Golden Hurricane finished the 2024 season with a 3-9 record and went 1-7 in conference play.

Memphis was selected to finish 2nd in the league, while picking up 3 first-place votes. Navy, UTSA, and USF all received 1 first-place vote to round out the top 5.

Each of the 14 teams in the American Conference will play eight conference games in 2025.

The 2025 American Conference football championship game will be held at the home stadium of the conference’s regular season champion. It is scheduled for Friday, December 5, with an 8:00 PM ET kickoff on ABC. The game will be the 11th consecutive year it is broadcast on ABC.
