Following the Future: Gamble, Stevenson's efforts help their teams to wins

The high school football season is rolling along in September with several members of Georgia Tech’s 2026 class and the lone 2027 commit in action across the Southeast.
Here is a look at how each of the commits performed in their most recent games in this edition of Following the Future, which will keep up with them throughout their seasons:
2026 Commits
CJ Gamble, LB, Carrollton (Ga.)
Gamble was a key part of Carrollton’s 43-21 win on the road over Gainesville Friday to move to 5-0 on the season as he led the Trojans in tackles with nine total (four solo), including a sack and 1.5 tackles-for-loss. Carrollton is back home this Friday for a huge matchup with a powerhouse Parker program from the state of Alabama.
Traeviss Stevenson, CB, Brooks County (Ga.)
Brooks County picked up its first win of the season with a 21-3 victory on the road at Fitzgerald Friday with Stevenson playing a prominent role. Offensively, Stevenson had five catches for 110 yards and a touchdown as well as five rushing attempts for 14 yards. On the defensive side, he had four solo tackles, three tackles-for-loss and five passes defensed. Brooks County (1-3) will be on the road again this Friday for another non-region test at Pierce County.
Darnell Collins, WR/S, Rome (Ga.)
Collins continued his impressive play recently with another big night offensively in Rome’s 31-14 win at East Paulding to open region competition Friday. The senior receiver had five catches for 104 yards and two touchdowns. Rome is now 2-2 on the season and 1-0 in region play. The Wolves are at home this Friday to host another region foe, Alexander.
JJ Winston, WR, Rome (Ga.)
Winston and Rome opened their region schedule in successful fashion on Friday with a 31-14 victory at East Paulding. Winston finished with three catches for 58 yards and also returned a punt for a touchdown. Rome (2-2, 1-0 region) will be back home this Friday at Barron Stadium to host Alexander in another region matchup.
Amier Clarke, DL, Osceola (Fla.)
Clarke had four tackles, two sacks and a tackle-for-loss in Osceola’s 44-7 home win over St. Cloud on Friday. Osceola (3-1) on the road this Friday, traveling to take on Jones.
Chris Carbin, Edge/DE, Hillgrove (Ga.)
Carbin finished with eight tackles (six solo), one sack, one tackle-for-loss and a fumble return for a touchdown in Hillgrove’s 69-0 win over Osborne in the region opener. Hillgrove (4-0, 1-0 region) will host Pebblebrook this Friday in another region contest.
Jack Richerson, TE, Marist (Ga.)
Marist had an easy time of it on Friday in a lopsided 70-6 win at Northview in its region opener. Richerson contributed on both sides of the ball, catching one pass for 24 yards and a touchdown and rushing one time for 31 yards on offense and racking up three tackles, two sacks and three quarterback hurries on defense. Marist (2-1, 1-0 region) will visit Druid Hills this Friday for another region matchup.
Kymani Morales, LB, American Heritage (Fla.)
American Heritage suffered a 24-17 loss in overtime Friday at Edna Karr (La.) in a back-and-forth matchup. Morales finished with 10 total tackles (four solo) and sacks. American Heritage (1-2) will return to its home field this Friday to host Central (Fla.).
Freddie Wilson, DL, Spruce Creek (Fla.)
Wilson had three tackles, including two tackles-for-loss, in Spruce Creek’s 20-16 win at Mainland on Friday to remain undefeated. Spruce Creek (4-0) will next host Titusville this Friday.
Jeffar Jean-Noel, WR, American Heritage (Fla.)
American Heritage suffered a 24-17 loss in overtime Friday at Edna Karr (La.) in a hard-fought contest. Due to injuries, American Heritage was forced to play Jean-Noel at quarterback, and he performed quite well, going 7-for-12 for 166 yards and two TDs. American Heritage (1-2) will return to its home field this Friday to host Central (Fla.).
Kentrell Davis, WR, Parker (Ala.)
Davis had two catches for 26 yards and a touchdown in Parker’s 42-7 win at Mortimer Jordan on Friday to stay unbeaten in the early season. Parker (4-0) will make the trip to the Peach State this Friday for a much-anticipated matchup at Carrollton, who is also undefeated now at 5-0 after a nice win at Gainesville this past Friday.
Jonathan Genty, P, Blessed Trinity (Ga.)
Blessed Trinity suffered a 21-10 loss at Milton on Friday. Genty had five punts for an average of 30.6 yards per attempt, a long of 47 and two downed inside the opponent’s 20. He also made a 42-yard field goal and an extra point while handling kicking duties. Blessed Trinity (3-1) will be back home on Friday to host Hebron Christian for another challenging non-region test.
Ladarrious “LJ” Crumity, CB, Madison County (Fla.)
Madison County was shutout in a 9-0 loss at home against Columbia (Fla.) on Friday. Crumity played on both sides of the ball in the contest, throwing for 45 yards on 4-of-5 passing, rushing for 44 yards on 11 carries and recording one catch for five yards on offense while racking up six tackles (four solo) on defense. Madison County (1-3) is at Bay this Friday as they try to rebound.
Isaac Obrokta, WR, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee (Ga.)
Rabun Gap evened its record at 2-2 on the season with a dominant 42-0 home victory over Ambassador Christian School on Friday. Obrokta finished with four catches for 41 yards and a touchdown. Rabun Gap will be on the road this Friday at Providence Day (N.C.).
Alex Willis, Edge/DE, The First Academy (Fla.)
The First Academy earned a hard-fought 12-8 victory at Eau Gallie on Friday. Willis had seven tackles (two solo), one tackle-for-loss and two quarterback hurries. The First Academy (2-2) is back on the road this Friday to visit Venice for another non-region test.
Nathan Agyemang, TE, Kell (Ga.)
Agyemang didn’t record any stats in Kell’s 38-7 loss at Lowndes on Friday. Kell (3-2) returns home to host Columbia this Friday in another non-region contest.
Jaedyn Terry, CB, Manchester (Ga.)
Terry and Manchester dropped a road game 29-7 on Thursday at Spencer to tall to 1-3 on the season. No individual stats were available for Terry after the loss. Manchester will host Chapel Hill this Friday.
Xavier Rucker, RB, Allatoona (Ga.)
Allatoona earned a 20-7 home win over Cedartown on Friday in its region opener. Rucker didn’t play in the game. Allatoona (2-3, 1-0 region) will next visit Dalton this Friday for another region matchup.
Courtney Heard, OL, East Coweta (Ga.)
East Coweta (0-4) was off this past week but will be back on the field this Friday to host Perry.
Courtlin Heard, OL, East Coweta (Ga.)

2027 commits
Jordan Christie, WR, Southwest DeKalb
Southwest DeKalb rolled past North Springs 49-0 at home to improve to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in region play on the season. No individual stats were available for Christie after the win. Southwest DeKalb will be on the road at St. Pius X this Friday for another region matchup.
