Michigan has made its recruiting approach at tight end crystal clear: take two high school prospects in every cycle. That plan is already on track for 2026, with Matt Ludwig and Mason Bonner committed and firmly locked in. With the current class nearly wrapped at the position, tight ends coach Steve Casula is now shifting focus to the 2027 cycle and beginning to identify top priorities early. One of the names high on Michigan’s board is Colt Lumpris, a four-star standout from Tolland (Conn.) The Lawrence School. Lumpris is currently ranked No. 181 overall and No. 14 among tight ends in the national composite, and he’s quickly becoming a nationally recognized name at the position.
