4-Star 2026 CB Dorian Barney Commits to Michigan

4-star CB Dorian Barney has announced his commitment to Michigan, choosing the Wolverines over Georgia Tech, Penn State, and Texas A&M.
The Georgia native is the nation’s No. 193 overall prospect and No. 18 cornerback, according to On3’s Industry Rankings. Rivals rates Barney higher, including him in the Top 100 at No. 75 overall and No. 9 among cornerbacks.
Barney’s official visits followed this schedule: Penn State (May 16), Georgia Tech (May 30), Texas A&M (June 5), Ole Miss (June 17), and Michigan (June 20). He also visited Ann Arbor unofficially on March 27 for spring practice.
While at varying stages, the Nittany Lions and Aggies were viewed as leaders for Barney, coaches Sherrone Moore and LaMar Morgan have made him a top priority on the trail over the past year, ultimately leading to today’s commitment.

In 2024, Barney put up impressive stats for Carrollton High School, recording 39 total tackles (27 solo, 2 for loss, 10 assists), 5 interceptions (including 1 pick-six), 1 forced fumble, and 5 pass breakups. Listed at 6’1″, 180lbs, his film reflects a savvy cornerback with high football IQ and strong anticipatory skills, suggesting he offers starting upside as a freshman.
