4-Star 2026 EDGE Julian Walker Commits to Michigan

Julian Walker has announced his commitment to Michigan, giving the Wolverines another major addition to their 2026 defensive haul.
Walker, listed at 6-foot-6 and 240 pounds, is rated as a four-star prospect by the On3 Industry Ranking. He holds a 91.44 rating and ranks as the No. 180 overall player in the country, the No. 24 EDGE, and the No. 4 prospect in South Carolina.
Michigan beat out schools like South Carolina, NC State, and North Carolina in a recruitment that saw Walker make multiple trips to Ann Arbor. He took an official visit to Michigan on June 20, just over two months after his first unofficial visit to campus on April 4.
Walker was joined on the visit by now all-Michigan commits Titan Davis, Carter Meadows, and Tariq Boney.
Walker’s father, Jamil, is on staff at South Carolina.
Walker also took official visits to NC State on June 6 and North Carolina on May 30. He had previously visited South Carolina twice, including a trip on April 18.
Walker is known for his length, quickness off the edge, and ability to disrupt plays in the backfield. His junior tape showed a player who could bend around tackles and hold the edge in run support. His 6-6 frame gives him considerable upside as a pass rusher in Michigan’s defensive scheme.
The Wolverines continue to prioritize long, athletic edge defenders under head coach Sherrone Moore and defensive coordinator Wink Martindale. Walker fits that mold.
