Michigan Football: Sherrone Moore updates health status of key players in lead-up to Purdue game

The injury bug hasn’t been very kind to the Michigan football program this season, as the team hasn’t quite been able to field a completely healthy team at any point during the season, with new injuries seemingly happening every week.

The newest one happened in the first half of Saturday’s victory over Michigan State, when linebacker Cole Sullivan left the game with what appeared to be an arm injury and did not return to the game.

With his status in doubt for the Wolverines’ upcoming game against Purdue, it’s still too early in the week for U-M head coach Sherrone Moore to make any determinations about the status of his emerging star linebacker.

“We’ll get some more information as we go through the week,” Moore told reporters during his weekly press conference on Monday.

Elsewhere on defense, it’s been two weeks since Rod Moore has played in a game without much word of his status.

According to the U-M headman, his senior captain is working with the medical team to make sure his knee continues to be in good shape and to avoid any potential reinjury of a knee injury he suffered over a year ago.

Caution is the name of the game right now, and his status is unknown as the program heads into a bye week after the Purdue game on Saturday.

“Just working through the knee, making sure that it’s 100%,” Moore said. “Does some things in practice, does some movement stuff, but it’s not all the way there. I think that one week he had a lot of reps, put some work on it, so we’ll just see how he’s going this week.”
