Michigan Hockey: A week in review (Oct. 12-19)

Michigan hockey continues its red-hot start to the year with another weekend sweep, as the program’s biggest test of the year is looming this weekend.

Let’s take a look at how the Wolverines fared this weekend:

October 16

Highlights:

Who: Robert Morris

Where: Ann Arbor, MI

Result: Michigan wins 4-2

Goals: Adam Valentini (2), Jayden Perron, T.J. Hughes

Goalie: Jack Ivankovich

Of Note: Michigan fought back after taking a 1-0 deficit in the second period, tying the game at 1 midway through the period only for Robert Morris to take back the lead a minute later. The Wolverines answered with a game-tying goal late in the period and did not look back, adding two more goals in the third period for another victory for true freshman netminder Jack Ivankovich.

October 17

Highlights:

Who: Robert Morris

Where: Ann Arbor, MI

Result: Michigan wins 10-2

Goals: Perron, Jayden (2); Eernisse, Josh (2); Horcoff, Will (1); Draper, Kienan (1); Hage, Michael (1); McKinney, Cole (1); Park, Aidan (1); Hughes, T.J. (1)

Goalie: Jack Ivankovich

Of Note: The Wolverines didn’t need to fight back in this one, scoring 10 goals to help Ivankovich start 6-0 on the year.
