Michigan Hockey: A week in review (Oct. 27- Nov. 2)

The Michigan hockey program didn’t let its first loss of the season get it down, as the Wolverines traveled to South Bend to bounce back and earn a series sweep against Notre Dame to open Big Ten play.

October 31

Highlights:

Who: Notre Dame

Where: South Bend, IN

Result: Michigan wins 5-3

Goals: Horcoff, Will (2); Rheaume-Mullen, Dakoda (1); Park, Aidan (1); Hughes, T.J. (1)

Goalie: Jack Ivankovic

Of Note: Michigan scored four power-play goals in the winning effort as Jack Ivankovic continues his red-hot start to the year, saving 30 shots.

November 1

Highlights:

Who: Notre Dame

Where: South Bend, IN

Result: Michigan wins 2-1 (OT)

Goals: Moldenhauer, Nick (1); Horcoff, Will (1)

Goalie: Jack Ivankovic

Of Note: Nick Moldenhauer scored to tie the game at 1 in the middle of the third period. After carrying 30 seconds of short-handed play into the overtime period, the Wolverines would kill the penalty, and Will Horcoff scored his team-high 10th goal of the season in overtime to win it.
