The Cardinals announced the four-year deal had been signed on its website, saying that he was the only Cardinals rookie left to not sign a contract.

“I knew the whole time we would get it done before camp,” Johnson told Cardinals reporter Darren Urban. “It locks it in. Makes it official. But I’ve already been here getting to know everybody and working.”

The Cardinals selected Johnson No. 47 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft after a stellar career with the Wolverines, where he was named an All-American and won a national championship with the program in 2023.

While the Cardinals did not announce terms of the deal, Spotrac suggests Johnson’s four-year deal will be worth $9.4 million.
