Michigan Football set to face Texas in 2025 Cheez-it Citrus Bowl

The Michigan football program has formally announced that it has accepted an invite to the 2025 Cheez-it Citrus Bowl and will be facing Texas on New Year’s Eve.

The Wolverines confirmed the news on Sunday with a press release.
“We are excited to take part in the 80th Citrus Bowl, a game that traditionally features some of the most storied programs in college football,” U-M head coach Sherrone Moore said in a statement. “Our team is eager for the challenge of competing against Texas, and it is a great honor to represent the Big Ten on this stage. We look forward to the trip to Orlando and the opportunity to close out our season against a talented Longhorn squad led by Coach Steve Sarkisian.”
On3’s Brett McMurphy, first reported the news of the Wolverines heading to Orlando.
Both programs will be searching for their 10th win of the season, as the two enter the bowl game with 9-3 records on the year. The Longhorns have wins over two CFP programs in Oklahoma and Texas A&M.
The New Year’s Eve meeting will mark the second year in a row the two programs have faced off, as the Longhorns defeated the Wolverines 31-12 during week two of the 2024 season.
The full bowl season schedule is set to be released on Sunday.
