3-Star 2027 IOL Tristan Dare Commits to Michigan

On Monday, three-star 2027 IOL Tristan Dare out of Southlake (Tex.) Carroll announced his commitment to Michigan. The 6-4, 260-pounder chose the Wolverines over offers from the likes of Oklahoma, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State, Florida, and Washington.

Dare is classified as a three-star recruit by Rivals and 247Sports, thus coming in at 467th overall, 34th among interior offensive linemen, and 56th in Texas within the Industry Rankings.

Dare’s decision to commit to U-M follows a focused push from Offensive Line Coach Grant Newsome. The Texas native received an offer from Newsome on June 5th and then made an unofficial visit to Ann Arbor over the weekend of June 14th. Following the trip, Dare shared his thoughts, saying, “Michigan is a special place. It’s rich with tradition and the program with the most wins in college football history, but I think it’s the people that make it awesome.”

He joins fellow interior offensive lineman Louis Esposito as Michigan’s only 2027 commits. However, we are expecting more pledges to be announced over the coming months as the staff continues to pursue a number of other blue-chip recruits in the cycle.
