AP Poll: Mizzou rises to No. 20

After the Missouri Tigers beat the South Carolina Gamecocks 29-20 Saturday, Mizzou has risen from No. 23 to No. 20 in the Week 5 AP poll
After starting the season receiving votes, the Tigers broke into the poll at No. 25 after winning the Border War, then improved two spots after being Louisiana.
Missouri also raised three spots in Sunday’s Coaches Poll, rising to No. 19.
As Mizzou was rising, Illinois suffered the biggest drop. The Illini were No. 9 before losing 63-10 to No. 19 Indiana. Now Illinois drops to No. 23 while Indiana rose to No. 11.
After a 70-point performance, Vanderbilt rose from No. 20 to No. 18. But going in reverse was Auburn, which dropped out of the rankings from No. 22 after losing to now-No. 7 Oklahoma.
The Tigers have a handful of ranked opponents left on the schedule.
Next up is No. 17 Alabama in three weeks after the Tigers play UMass this week and follow that with a bye. Then comes a road matchup at Auburn, and another at No. 18 Vanderbilt.
Missouri will return home to play 9 Texas A&M, then the Tigers’ penultimate game will be a road matchup at No. 7 Oklahoma.
