Devyon Hill-Lomax walked into his home, and it hit him.

He just wrapped up his final official visit June 22 at nearby Missouri. With an opportunity to play close to home in the SEC, the Class of 2026 Edwardsville (Ill.) wide receiver was ready to make his decision.

Three days into the NCAA Dead Period, Hill-Lomax announced his commitment to the Tigers.

“Coach’s reaction was super happy,” the three-star said of Missouri wide receivers coach Jacob Peeler. “Coach Peeler and who he coached and sent to the league is what did it for me.”

Hill-Lomax immediately clicked with quarterback commit Gavin Sidwar this past month. Both visiting in late June, the two spent a majority of their trip together, with Sidwar meeting one of the Tigers’ two wideout commits that weekend.

“I’m very ready to catch some touchdown passes from him,” the 6-foot-5 pass-catcher said.

Safety CJ Bass, a product of East St. Louis (Ill.) High, hosted Hill-Lomax during his official visit. The incoming freshman provided a laid-back weekend for a fellow southern Illinois product.

“It means a lot,” said Hill-Lomax about not going far for college. “So if I need to come home, I can. It’s just two hours.”

“We always say ‘Once a Tiger, always a Tiger,'” Edwardsville wide receivers coach Cameron James added. “Now he’s going to be a Tiger at the next level.”
