Tigers in the NFL: Luther Burden III leads former Mizzou players in Week 3 of NFL season

In his third professional game, Luther Burden III showed the tools that made him a star at Missouri.
The Chicago Bears’ 2025 second-rounder scored his first NFL touchdown on a flea-flicker from second-year quarterback Caleb Williams. Burden caught the pass down the left side of the field before avoiding a shoe-string tackle and strutting into the end zone.
The former five-star recruit totaled three receptions for 101 yards. Burden also picked up seven yards on his first carry of the season en route to Chicago’s first win of the season. He entered the matchup against the Dallas Cowboys with just two yards of offense through his first two games.
Bolton, Badie & Brady
Kansas City Chiefs starting linebacker Nick Bolton recorded a team-leading 14 tackles Sunday against the New York Giants in prime time. The re-signed two-time Super Bowl champion registered six solo tackles, two tackles for loss and one pass deflection in a 22-9 win.
Denver Broncos reserve running back Tyler Badie notched two tackles, one solo, on special teams. For a third straight week, Badie received the nod as the team’s third running back, but he didn’t see much action in the offense. Quarterback Brady Cook was elevated from the practice squad Sunday for the New York Jets, marking the first NFL player from St. Louis (Mo.) Chaminade. He did not record a snap.
D-Line Zou
A former first-rounder, Darius Robinson entered his second professional season healthy after being limited as a rookie. The defensive end logged his second tackle of the season for the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
In an emphatic victory over the Green Bay Packers, Cleveland Browns defensive end Isaiah McGuire recorded one tackle. The 2023 fourth-rounder is up to four tackles and one sack this season. San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Jordan Elliot filled his stat sheet with three tackles, one solo and one for loss.
Secondary
Former Tulsa transfer and star Missouri cornerback Akayleb Evans also logged one tackle for the Carolina Panthers. With his second NFL team, the 2022 fourth-rounder only has two tackles through three games.
