Mizzou flips Cincinnati safety commit Brody Jones after official visit

For months, Missouri weighed options in the secondary.
But the Tigers finally added another safety in Brody Jones, who flipped from Cincinnati after his Missouri official visit this past weekend. It marked the Class of 2026 three-star’s second trip to Memorial Stadium after previously visiting for the Week 3 matchup against Louisiana.
“They have been recruiting me pretty hard,” Jones told national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman ahead of his most recent visit. “They show a lot of love, and it really seems like a place where I can develop and build as a person both on and off the field.”
Although listed as a cornerback, Missouri has shown interest in the 6-foot-3, 185-pound defensive back as a safety. Jones received an offer from Missouri on Sept. 7 from safeties coach Jacob Yoro, who already received two commitments this cycle from three-stars Tony Forney Jr. and Carter Stewart, who flipped from Utah on Monday. Yoro also hosted Louisville commit Jayden McGregory this past weekend.
Jones traveled to Missouri this past weekend with his parents. Assistant director of defensive personnel Christian Heinz played a key role in hosting the family throughout pregame Saturday.
As the 18th commitment for the Tigers, Jones marked the fifth in October, joining Carter, linebacker JJ Bush, running back TJ Hodges and offensive linemen Brysen Wessell and Johnnie Jones Jr. The safety also became the seventh defensive pledge.
