To avoid excessive heat, Mizzou’s kickoff time against the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns has been moved up from 3 p.m. central time to noon.

“Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our student-athletes and the game-day experience for our fans,” Missouri Athletic Director Laird Veatch said in a team press release. “We are incredibly grateful to our fans for their understanding and flexibility as we make this adjustment. With extreme heat in the forecast, especially later in the afternoon, we believe it’s necessary to move kickoff earlier in the day to ensure the safest and most enjoyable experience possible for everyone who will be part of Saturday’s sold-out game at Memorial Stadium.”

The temperature is expected to reach 96 degrees during the late afternoon according to the weather channel.

With the change, gates to Memorial Stadium will open at 10 a.m. following the Tiger Walk at 9:30 a.m.

Fans are permitted to bring “one clear factory sealed water bottle into the stadium that can be refilled by water monsters that are stationed on the east and west concourses.”

The team is encouraging fans to monitor Mizzou Athletics social media accounts for updates on game-day procedures.
