Mizzou players speak ahead of Texas A&M: "We gotta do our job, raise our level."
Mizzou center Connor Tollison, linebacker Josiah Trotter and safety Jalen Catalon met with local media Tuesday ahead of the Tigers’ matchup with Texas A&M. Here are the full videos of all three.
Josiah Trotter
“I feel like all these games, prior, that we’ve had is a good build up for this game that kind of showed us what a mobile QB can do,” Trotter said. “It’s not going to be our first rodeo seeing a QB that can run the ball or use his legs to extend the play.”
“Everyone has a job and a responsibility on each play,” Trotter said. “Everyone is just trying to execute it the best way they can … that’s the best thing we’ve been able to do throughout the year.”
“They’ve got a lot of athletes, a lot of good players,” Trotter said. “They can create a lot of explosive plays.”
Connor Tollison
“I think it gave us some time to gel as a unit,” Tollison said of getting an extra week with Matt Zollers getting first-team reps. “And just good to go against our defense, too. They’re a really good defense.”
“We gotta do our job, raise our level,” Tollison said. “Try to do everything we can to the best of our ability just to take any pressure we can off (Zollers). He’s not gonna have an easy job. So we’ve gotta do everything we can in our power to make it easier for him.”
“I think he’s been pretty focused all year,” Tollison said of Zollers. “Sam (Horn) got hurt early and his role increased. And I think he’s taken a good approach all year long.”
Jalen Catalon
“(Texas A&M) can beat you in the run game and the pass game,” Catalon said. “Our box has to do a really good job of filling the gaps and doing their jobs. And the back end has to do a very good job of being assignment sound and having eyes where they’re supposed to be.”
