Mizzou RB Brendon Haygood intends to enter transfer portal
Mizzou freshman running back Brendon Haygood intends to enter the transfer portal sources have informed Rivals recruiting writer Sam Spiegelman.
Haygood joined the Tigers as four-star running back in the Class of 2025. He appeared in one game his true freshman season and had four carries for 12 yards.
Haygood’s lone appearance was against Louisiana in Week 3 when the Tigers used both him and freshman running back Marquise Davis throughout the second half.
With multiple running backs ahead of him on the Tiger depth chart with multiple years of eligibility remaining, Haygood’s opportunities with the Tigers looked limited moving forward.
Haygood became the second Tiger to reportedly plan to enter the transfer portal along with redshirt freshman receiver James Madison.
After Haygood’s exit, the Tigers will return a running back room of:
- Redshirt senior Tavorus Jones
- Redshirt junior Jamal Roberts
- Junior Ahmad Hardy
- Redshirt freshman Davis
And Mizzou added three-star true freshman Maxwell Warner on Wednesday in the Class of 2026.
Haygood will have four years of eligibility remaining wherever he ends up.
The transfer portal will officially open on Jan. 2 and will run through Jan. 16.
