On the latest episode of The MizzouToday ShowKyle McAreavy and Kenny Van Doren preview Missouri’s Week 12 matchup with Mississippi State, discussing how injuries affect both teams ahead of the 6:45 p.m. Saturday contest on the SEC Network. The guys also dive into a preview for men’s basketball’s first Power Four game of the season with Minnesota and detail the latest around National Signing Day.

Mississippi State preview

“We could have a battle of true freshman quarterbacks,” McAreavy said. “… If (KaMario Taylor) has to start and Blake Shapen is fully out, it’ll be a pretty different role than what they have used him in recently. But it won’t be his first in-game snaps.”

Reviewing the basketball weekend

“The SEMO game was obviously pretty ugly, just not a lot really went right for Mizzou. Especially in that first half,” McAreavy said. “There were a lot of reactions that seemed pretty over the top in my head. Sometimes you play bad for 10 or 15 minutes. … They bounced back against VMI and looked great.”

Signing day

Jason Crowe Jr., of course, the top commit in this class,” Van Doren said. “Things opened the day. By the time we’re recording, Toni Bryant has already signed, I spoke with Aidan Chronister’s dad and he was expected to sign either digitally last night or this morning. … Not really expecting any issues with any three of these guys.”

“Mizzou at No. 2 right now, but of course that could chance,” Van Doren said. “But we’ve got scouting reports, we’ve got quotes from Dennis Gates already. … Go to MizzouToday and you can read about all three of those guys.”
