The MizzouToday Show: Signing Day Recap
On the latest episode of The MizzouToday Show, Kyle McAreavy and Kenny Van Doren recap National Signing Day for Missouri football. They break down each position group and analyze which will need to be addressed in the transfer portal.
Quarterback
“Gavin (Sidwar) has been around a long time,” Van Doren said. “He’s seen the ups and downs of the recruiting world, he’s seen the ups and downs of ratings. Once a four-star in the top 250 by Rivals before the merger with On3. He wasn’t always pleased with it like any high schooler. … But he just took himself out of the national spotlight for a while and focused on his senior season.”
Receiver
“The Tigers added Jabari Brady and Devyon Hill-Lomax, two guys who (Eliah) Drinkwitz pointed out as a good mix of size and speed,” McAreavy said. “He said he wanted to add some size back into the room. Felt like the three guys they got in last year’s class were very talented, but not all that big. He said it’s kind of a consistent balancing act between what you’re adding into the receiver room with so many guys.”
Edge rusher
“We talk about instant impact, (DeMarcus Johnson) could be your guy,” Van Doren said. “If you’re going to lose Damon Wilson and Zion Young to the NFL draft, I think you probably still want to address it in the portal and see what you can find … But DeMarcus can probably be that guy who puts his hand in the dirt.”
