Players to know
Dayan Nessah, forward
Coming from Geneva, Switzerland, Dayan Nessah joined the Vikings this summer and has made an instant impact through eight games.
Nessah is tied for the team lead with 15.5 points per game and has scored 20 or more three times, including. 25-point, 11-rebounds, three-block, two-assist game against Loyola Chicago in the season opener.
The 6-foot-7, 218-pound sophomore forward went to George Washington last season and played in 21 games, but averaged just 2.7 points and 1.5 rebounds in about 7 minutes per game.
Now as a full-time starter, he has been one of Cleveland State’s keys on both sides of the floor.
Tre Beard, guard
The main offensive weapon at guard for the Vikings is 5-10, 165-pound senior Tre Beard.
Beard spent five seasons at Shawnee State and was a full-time starter in 2024-25, playing 40 minutes in more games than not. He averaged 19.1 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 49.5/47.7/91.5.
His numbers have dipped a bit with the step up to the Horizon League, but he is still averaging 15.5 points per game, including a 27-point, five-rebounds, four-assist game against Kent State.
