Mizzou tips off the basketball season tonight at 6 p.m. on the road at Howard. Here are some basics to know about the game and the Bison.

Player to know

Bryce Harris, Guard

Bryce Harris has been with the Bison since the 2021-22 season when he played in 27 games and started seven.

Since then, he’s been a key piece of the success that led Howard to the NCAA Tournament in 2022-23 and 2023-24.

In 2023-24, he started all 35 games and averaged 16.6 points and 7.5 rebounds per game to go with 1.7 assists and more than 1.0 steals and blocks per contest.

Going into his senior season, he was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Preseason Player of the Year. But he played just seven games before an injury ended his season.

That did include an 11-point, four-rebound performance against the Tigers when Howard played at Mizzou Arena last year.

With him back leading the Bison offense, Howard should be much more formidable than last year’s 12-20 record shows.

Series history

This is just the second meeting between Mizzou and Howard. Last year, the Tigers won 77-62 at Mizzou Arena.

The teams are set to match up at Mizzou Arena again in 2026-27.
