Players to know
Jalon Daniels, QB
Daniels has been around forever. This is Year 6, all in the same program.
Through two games, he has amassed 456 passing yards while completing 36-of-45 passes for seven touchdowns and one interception.
He is also second on the team in rushing with 65 yards on 11 attempts.
Another guy who’s been around forever. This is year five for the redshirt senior running back, all with the same team.
Through the season’s first two games, he has led the rushing attack with 158 yards on 27 carries with one touchdown.
After joining Kansas through the transfer portal from Alabama, Henderson has become the key target in the passing game.
He leads the team with nine catches for 154 yards and two touchdowns.
But also, look out for Cam Pickett, a junior who transferred from Ball State. Pickett has eight catches for 106 yards and three scores.
D.J. Withers, DT
In his fourth year with the team, Withers has jumped into a key pass rush goal through two games.
He leads the team with six total hurries, including a co-team high two sacks to go with four hurries.
He also leads the team in pass-rush snaps. So expect to see him regularly.
Also, look out for defensive end Leroy Harris. He co-leads with two sacks and has both a QB hit and a hurry to go with them.
Devin Dye, S
After playing a sparse role last season, Dye has become one of the key parts of the secondary. He has one of the team’s two interceptions, along with two passes broken up.
He has six tackles and 0.5 sacks, so expect him to get involved in the pass rush once in a while.
Also, look out for Lyrik Rawls. He’s another safety and has the team’s other interception.
