Top Teams in the West: Regions 5-8

Week 2 has ended in the Tar Heel State and NCPreps will continue to recognize a team in each of the eight regions of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association. Here are the representatives for the western parts of the state in regions 5 through 8.

REGION 5: WEST DAVIDSON

The Green Dragons bounced back in a big way after a tough loss last week to pick up a win. West Davidson got a huge 43-20 win over Bishop McGuinness to even up their overall record to 1-1 in 2025.  

REGION 6: MYERS PARK

The Mustangs upset the highly ranked Weddington Warriors by a score 28-18 on the road. Quarterback Ramir Watson passed for 178 yards with a touchdown to help fuel the victory.

REGION 7: NORTH WILKES

The Vikings are off to a 2-0 start after finishing 1-9 last season and 0-10 in 20233. North got a huge shutout road win over the Surry Central Golden Eagles 55-0.

REGION 8: HENDERSONVILLE

The Bearcats got a huge county rival 36-9 win over West Henderson behind the efforts of JaRon Ward. Hendersonville improves to 2-0 in the 2025 season.
